The Ashima of adaptors are designed to give to allow fitment to most major brands OEM and aftermarket disk brake systems, both hydraulic and mechanical.
New for the 2010 session will the launch of the ultra-light range of adaptors, on some models this can represent over a 30% weight saving, and on a bike set can be as much as 30g! No other bike component can offer such weight
reductions at the price point of an adaptor....so more reason for your customers to switch to Ashima even if they already
have an OEM adaptor fitted. Note these new light weight versions will be implemented as a running change to the
existing model.....so no price/part number change.
Requirements Made Clear!
When selecting the correct adaptor to accommodate an increase in disk size extra care should be taken to ensure the correct size is used. Ashima stated disk compatibility assume OEM front 160mm and rear 140mm disks. However in resent years some OEMs fit oversized disks to font and/or rear, in such cases the brake calliper will have an adaptor fitted. If this is the case the OEM adaptor will either need to be removed (Ashima recommends this) or you should select an adaptor for the next standard disk size below your requirement.
Example: If you have a PM brake calliper, PM forks and wish to up-grade the front disk form 160 to 203 and the rear form 140 to 180 youˇ¦ll require the following adaptors: Front AU32 & Rear AU04
Center Lock The Ashima center lock has been designed to work with the Shimano center lock hubs allowing you to fit standard 6 bolt conventional disks.
To optimize rider safety it features DLS (Dual-action Locking System) ensuring the disk is fully located/fixed to the hub both radial and longitudinally, so you can be confident in the 100% transfer of braking torque form the disk to the hub.
